The 2024 Women in Auto Care Awards recognized outstanding leaders in the automotive industry at the Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX) in Las Vegas, honoring eight women and one company ally for their significant contributions and dedication.
"Each year we are blown away by the incredibly talented women nominated for the Women in Auto Care Awards, and 2024 was no different," said Elle Lawhead, chair of Women in Auto Care. “With over 100 nominations, we are proud to honor these remarkable individuals and celebrate their achievements.”
Among the awardees, Tina Hubbard, CEO of HDA Truck Pride, received the Lifetime Achievement award for her 35-year commitment to the industry and her leadership in the commercial vehicle sector. Hubbard shared, "For 35 years, I have watched this industry evolve... Women in Auto Care has done an amazing job of engaging, educating and empowering women."
The Outstanding Achievement award was presented to Sheila Sarkozi, senior growth and industry marketing manager at RepairPal, for her influential work in automotive aftermarket marketing. Sarkozi credited her success to the support and mentorship of industry peers, saying, "I continue to give back in every way I can, hoping to offer others the same encouragement and support that was given to me."
Julie Holmes, co-CEO of Virginia Tire & Auto, was honored as the Female Shop Owner of the Year for her role in transforming the family business into a leading automotive repair provider. Holmes emphasized her commitment to creating a supportive workplace and advocating for women in the industry, saying, "This honor and the work of Women in Auto Care inspire more women to get involved."
The Women of Excellence awards went to Lauren McCullough of Tromml, Christine Mobley of Dorman Products, Sarah Srock of Highline Warren, and Jillian Weishaar of Parts Authority, each celebrated for their leadership and contributions across various industry sectors.
Parts Authority, awarded Company Ally of the Year, was recognized for its dedication to diversity and inclusion, particularly in supporting women’s careers in auto care.
Anna Gluck, chief human resources officer at Nexa Motion Group, received the Champion of the Year award for her impactful HR initiatives that enhance workplace culture and foster growth for women in the industry.
