A central Indiana mother recently received the keys to a refurbished 2018 Chrysler Pacifica thanks to the National Auto Body Council (NABC) Recycled Rides program, with support from Caliber Collision and GEICO.
The recipient, Emiley Eaton, had been without a vehicle since an accident last December. As a single mother and sole provider for her young son, Eaton has faced daily challenges getting to work and daycare and running errands. With the help of the Concord Neighborhood Center, she was nominated for the NABC Recycled Rides program. Eaton recently transitioned from working in food service to becoming a certified clinical medical assistant in health care.
GEICO, which donated the vehicle, is a Level One partner of the NABC and has contributed more than 1,000 vehicles to individuals and organizations in need through the Recycled Rides initiative.
Caliber Collision Indianapolis North refurbished the Pacifica and presented it to Eaton on April 16. Over the past 12 years, Caliber has proudly partnered with the NABC Recycled Rides program to restore and donate more than 600 vehicles.
The Recycled Rides initiative is a collaborative effort that brings together partners across the collision repair industry to donate refurbished vehicles to individuals and families in need. Since its inception in 2007, the program has provided more than 3,500 vehicles valued at approximately $51 million.
Other partners involved in this latest donation included Advanced Remarketing Services, Cars for Charity, Copart and Enterprise.
The NABC also manages the Changing and Saving Lives Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting veterans, first responders, military members and families in need. Through programs like Recycled Rides and First Responder Emergency Extrication (F.R.E.E.), NABC has delivered a four-to-one return on investment in community impact from membership contributions.
