Missouri National Guard Cpl. Brandon Sides and his family recently received a fully refurbished 2020 Ford Fusion SEL through the National Auto Body Council (NABC) Recycled Rides program. This life-changing gift was made possible by vehicle donor Allstate and collision repair partner Schaefer Autobody of O’Fallon, IL.

Sides, a member of the Missouri National Guard since 2011, has served in Kuwait during Operation Spartan Shield and was recently promoted to a leadership role as an NCO in the 3175th Military Police Company. The Sides family faced significant challenges after their vehicle was totaled in an accident last year, leaving them unable to replace it due to financial constraints.

“It means a great deal to have reliable and affordable transportation for my family,” said Sides. “It will be wonderful to see my children taking part in activities, sports and playdates. We are immensely grateful for the opportunity to see our family improve their standard of living and expand their life experiences with this vehicle.”

Sides was nominated for the program by Mark Lear, soldier and family readiness group leader at the Family Assistance Center at the Bridgeton Armory of the Missouri National Guard.

The NABC Recycled Rides program unites businesses across the collision repair industry to refurbish and donate vehicles to families in need. Since its inception in 2007, the program has donated more than 3,300 vehicles valued at more than $47 million. Additional partners in this presentation included Sunset Ford, SOS, Advanced Remarketing Services, Cars for Charity, Copart and Enterprise.

Schaefer Autobody has a legacy spanning 39 years and 14 locations, now operating as a division of Quality Collision Group. The company continues to prioritize quality and customer care in its repairs.
