Amber Nicole Heflin received a 2019 Kia Optima.

Amber Nicole Heflin, a single mother from Louisville, KY, was gifted a 2019 Kia Optima on Oct. 2 from the National Auto Body Council Recycled Rides program. The vehicle was donated by GEICO and refurbished by Louisville Collision Center.

Heflin, who raises three young children aged 5, 4 and 1, was nominated for this generous gift by Kimberly Felts, a program specialist at Goodwill Industries of Kentucky's Cars to Work Program. According to Felts, the car is instrumental in improving Heflin's ability to care for her family.

"Having reliable transportation to manage daily tasks and support her family’s needs will significantly enhance both her wellbeing and that of her children," Felts explained in her nomination letter.

The National Auto Body Council Recycled Rides program collaborates with various partners across the collision repair industry to repair and donate vehicles, aiding families and individuals in need of dependable transportation. Since its start in 2007, the initiative has gifted more than 3,300 vehicles, valued at approximately $47 million, to recipients across the nation.

Additional partners in the presentation included Cars for Charity, Advanced Remarketing Services, Copart, Enterprise and LKQ.
