PPG announced the vibrant PPG livery will be featured in two key motorsports series this year.
PPG will be the primary sponsor for the Wood Brothers Racing No. 21 Mustang at the Brickyard 400 presented by PPG, one of the most notable stops on the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series schedule. Josh Berry will drive the PPG Ford Mustang at the race, set for July 27.
The Team Penske No. 2 PPG Chevrolet will also appear in seven races throughout the 2025 NTT INDYCAR Series, driven by defending INDY 500 winner Josef Newgarden.
In 2025, Wood Brothers Racing is entering its 75th season in competition, making it the oldest active team in NASCAR. The team has a technical alliance with Team Penske.
“PPG has a long history in motorsports, and we’re excited to become a part of that this year at one of the most special venues in all of racing,” said Jon Wood, president of Wood Brothers Racing. “PPG’s colors have been a fixture on the track for years, and we’re proud to showcase them on the No. 21 Ford Mustang at Indianapolis. It’s always fun to work with a company that shares such a passion for racing, and we’re looking forward to a great weekend together.”
“It is an honor to have the PPG livery on the Wood Brothers’ Mustang at the Brickyard as the team celebrates its 75th anniversary,” said Bill Shaw, PPG global business director, strategic initiatives, Automotive Refinish. “It is a historic team with close ties to our long-time partners at Team Penske and we can’t wait to see what Josh does behind the wheel of the PPG car.”
PPG will serve as the primary sponsor for seven INDYCAR races: the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg on March 2, the Thermal Club INDYCAR Grand Prix on March 23, the Children’s of Alabama Indy Grand Prix on May 4, the Bommarito Automotive Group 500 on June 15 in Illinois, Road America on June 22 in Wisconsin, the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio on July 6, and the Ontario Honda Dealers Indy Toronto on July 20.
Newgarden, back-to-back Indianapolis 500 Champion and two-time INDYCAR Series Champion, will once again pilot the No. 2 PPG Chevrolet.
“The PPG car is a fan favorite in INDYCAR,” said Newgarden. “Soon NASCAR fans will get to enjoy it as well. Josh and I have known each other for a long time and actually went to middle school together. To now both be sponsored by PPG is pretty surreal. It’s exciting how things have turned out for two kids from Hendersonville, TN.”
PPG will continue to serve as an associate partner on the No. 12 Chevrolet driven by two-time INDYCAR Champion Will Power, and the No. 3 Chevrolet driven by Scott McLaughlin.
PPG will also return as a Team Penske partner in the NASCAR Cup Series serving as an associate sponsor of the No. 2 Ford Mustang driven by Austin Cindric, the No. 12 Ford Mustang driven by 2023 NASCAR Cup Series Champion Ryan Blaney, and the No. 22 Ford Mustang driven by defending and three-time NASCAR Cup Series Champion Joey Logano.
