Alesha Duchesne and Savannah Brown each received refurbished vehicles through the National Auto Body Council (NABC) Recycled Rides program, with help from car donor GEICO and repair partner Kaizen Collision Center. The donations were presented in Riverside, CA, to provide newfound independence and the ability to meet daily obligations.
Duchesne, a hardworking individual employed full-time, was presented with a refurbished 2020 Subaru Impreza. Her previous vehicle required costly repairs that she could not afford, making it very difficult for her to get to work. The donated vehicle has already relieved the stress of figuring out how to get to work and how to meet her daily living needs.
Brown, who serves as chairperson-elect for Riverside County’s Youth Action Board (YAB) while maintaining a retail job, received a 2023 Honda Civic EX. The lack of reliable transportation had previously limited her ability to attend community events and board meetings. The donated vehicle will ensure she can fulfill her professional commitments and continue helping others.
Both women were nominated for the program by Operation SafeHouse, a nonprofit organization supporting youth in crisis.
Since its inception in 2007, NABC Recycled Rides has donated more than 3,500 vehicles, valued at more than $50 million, to individuals and families in need.
Kaizen Collision Center, which repaired the vehicles, started as a one-man garage 11 years ago and has since grown to nearly 50 locations. It became a subsidiary of Kinderhook Industries, LLC, earlier this year, a partnership aimed at fostering continued growth while maintaining exceptional repair services.
Additional partners in the presentation included Riverside Metro Auto Group, Toyota of Riverside, R&R Dents and Repairs, Superior Replacement, Advanced Remarketing Services, Cars for Charity, Copart and Enterprise.
