Jerry’s Abra Auto Body and Glass, a locally owned business in Mankato, MN, once again teamed up with the Mankato MoonDogs, a summer collegiate baseball team, to support the Alzheimer’s Association, demonstrating the power of sports and community partnerships.

This season, the company donated $100 for each home run hit by the MoonDogs, totaling $3,800 from 38 home runs.

“We are incredibly proud to continue our support of the Alzheimer’s Association through our partnership with the Mankato MoonDogs,” said Geralynn Kottschade, owner of Jerry’s Abra Auto Body and Glass. “Alzheimer’s impacts so many families, and as a locally owned business, it is rewarding to know that every home run brings us one step closer to finding a cure. Together, we can make a real difference.”

Since 2017, Jerry’s Abra and the MoonDogs have partnered on this initiative, raising thousands of dollars to fund Alzheimer’s research, early detection efforts, and improved care for those affected by dementia. The Alzheimer’s Association works globally to reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia while advancing research and promoting support for families.

This year, the Kottschade family’s contributions to the community earned them the Community Champion Award at the Limitless 2024 conference. The honor highlights their commitment to philanthropy and the well-being of the Mankato area, values the family has upheld for over five decades.
