Liberty Mutual Insurance has made a $25,000 donation to the Collision Engineering Career Alliance, supporting the nonprofit’s mission to strengthen the collision repair workforce through hands-on education, mentorship and expanded student support.

The donation comes as the collision repair industry faces an anticipated shortage of more than 100,000 technicians by 2028. With operations at six schools across the U.S., the Alliance aims to provide students with the technical and career readiness skills needed to succeed in a rapidly evolving automotive landscape.

“We couldn’t be more excited about this incredible donation from our partners,” said Mary Mahoney, vice president of Enterprise Mobility and leader of the Collision Engineering Career Alliance. “Liberty Mutual’s investment in our mission is not only generous but transformative. The donation enables us to provide hands-on training, mentorship and life-changing opportunities to the students who will be the future of this field.”

Founded in 2020 by the Enterprise Mobility Foundation and Ranken Technical College in St. Louis, the Collision Engineering Career Alliance officially became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit earlier this year. The organization now operates in partnership with six institutions:

• Ranken Technical College (St. Louis, MO)
• College of Lake County (Grayslake, IL)
• Contra Costa College (San Pablo, CA)
• Parkland College (Champaign, IL)
• Metropolitan Community College (Omaha, NE)
• Sandhills Community College (Pinehurst, NC)

The Alliance’s newly acquired nonprofit status allows it to accept charitable donations to expand programming and student support, including tuition reimbursement, certification fees and quality-of-life needs.

“Widespread industry support is vital to meet the growing technician demand,” Mahoney added. “We are grateful for Liberty Mutual’s continued partnership.”

The Collision Engineering Career Alliance collaborates with leaders across collision repair, automotive, insurance and education sectors to inspire and prepare the next generation of collision repair professionals. More information is available at www.beacollisionengineer.com.
