Carlock Automotive has acquired Toyota of Slidell in Louisiana, marking the final sale in Bohn Brothers Automotive Group’s portfolio and its complete exit from the auto dealership business.

Kerrigan Advisors, which represented Bohn Brothers in the sale, announced the transaction signifying Carlock Automotive’s entry into the Louisiana market.

“We are delighted to announce the successful completion of the final of four transactions we have advised on for the dealership group owned by the Bohn Brothers,” said Gabe Robleto, senior vice president of sell-side advisory at Kerrigan Advisors. “The legacy of the Bohn Brothers is in excellent hands, and we look forward to seeing the continued success of Toyota of Slidell under its new ownership.”

Founded in 1924 by George W. Bohn, the Bohn Brothers Automotive Group built a strong presence in the New Orleans market, expanding over three generations to include brands such as Toyota, Audi, Buick, Pontiac, Hyundai, Genesis and GMC.

The sale of Toyota of Slidell follows previous transactions involving Audi of New Orleans, Audi Lafayette, and Hyundai Genesis of Metairie.

“It is a bittersweet moment for our family as we step away from the business after more than 100 years of serving the New Orleans community,” said Donny Bohn, co-owner of Bohn Brothers Automotive Group. “We deeply appreciate the efforts of Kerrigan Advisors in ensuring a seamless transition and finding the ideal buyer for Toyota of Slidell.”

Toyota of Slidell, the second highest-volume dealership in the city, is strategically located on Slidell’s auto row off I-10, a key corridor connecting Florida to California. The dealership’s new owner, Carlock Automotive, operates multiple locations across the Southeastern U.S. as it expands into Louisiana for the first time.

Kerrigan Advisors’ role in the sale highlights the growing demand for Toyota franchises. According to the 2024 Kerrigan Dealer Survey, Toyota remains the most trusted brand among dealership buyers, with a market share in New Orleans exceeding national averages by 18%. The brand’s strong sales performance, measured approach to EVs and high dealership profitability continue to attract buyers nationwide.

“Toyota continues to be the most requested brand by auto dealership buyers,” said Erin Kerrigan, founder and managing director of Kerrigan Advisors. “This transaction is yet another example of the success of Kerrigan Advisors’ sale process in ensuring each client’s personal and financial goals are achieved in a once-in-a-generation sale.”
