Applications Open for Scholarships to Support Automotive Teachers

High school automotive teachers in California, Nevada and Arizona are eligible for the awards.

CAWA-Motorcar Parts of America – Selwyn Joffe Awards

High school automotive teachers in California, Nevada and Arizona can now apply for scholarships to enhance their programs, thanks to the newly announced Motorcar Parts of America – Selwyn Joffe Awards.

The awards, offered through CAWA, are designed to support the often-overlooked educators who play a crucial role in preparing students for careers in the automotive industry. The initiative provides financial assistance as well as the opportunity to receive tools, products and classroom resources through CAWA’s membership network.

“CAWA is proud to assist automotive high school teachers, in part, to assure their programs remain viable and well-resourced for the benefit of their students and our industry,” said Rodney Pierini, president and CEO of CAWA, in the announcement.

The organization said high school auto teachers frequently use personal funds or face certification challenges to sustain their programs. The Selwyn Joffe Awards aim to reduce these burdens and help ensure quality technical education for students entering the automotive workforce.

To be eligible, applicants must be high school automotive teachers in California, Nevada or Arizona. The deadline to submit an application is May 31. Applications can be found online or requested via email at programs@cawa.org.
