In a presentation held June 11 in Memphis, TN, United Way of Mid-South received a refurbished 2019 Honda Odyssey through the National Auto Body Council (NABC) Recycled Rides program, courtesy of GEICO and Crash Champions Collision Repair Covington Pike.

This donation, celebrated at a special event at United Way Mid-South headquarters, will bolster the organization's ability to help people who have fallen on hard times.

“It was awesome,” said Annette Knox, director of major giving at United Way Mid-South. “This van donated through NABC Recycled Rides, GEICO and Crash Champions will give us the visibility throughout the eight counties we serve to connect people with the many resources United Way has to offer.”

United Way of Mid-South, known for its mission to mobilize and align community resources to tackle poverty, supports more than 170 local nonprofits through its Driving the Dream initiative. The donated van will play a crucial role in facilitating inter-agency work, enhancing the coordination of community-based services to help families achieve their aspirations.

The NABC Recycled Rides program, initiated in 2007, involves businesses across the collision repair industry in repairing and donating vehicles to those in need. To date, the program has donated more than 3,300 vehicles, valued at approximately $47 million.

Additional partners in this presentation included Bob’s Main Street Motors, Commercial Auto Glass, Dentsmart, Russ Darrow Toyota, 800 Charity Cars, Copart and Enterprise.
