For the second consecutive year, Tesla drivers have been ranked as the worst in the nation, according to a LendingTree study analyzing 30 car brands. The study found Tesla drivers were involved in more accidents, DUIs, speeding violations and citations than drivers of any other brand.

Researchers determined the rankings by calculating the number of driving incidents per 1,000 drivers. Tesla drivers had 37 incidents per 1,000 drivers, marking a sharp increase from 31 incidents recorded in last year’s study. Ram drivers followed with 34 incidents, while Subaru drivers had 33.

Among all 30 brands analyzed, Ram drivers had the highest incident rates in 16 states -- more than any other brand. Tesla drivers, meanwhile, were ranked the worst in nine states.
Conversely, Mercury, Pontiac and Cadillac drivers were found to be the safest on the road. Mercury drivers reported just 19 incidents per 1,000 drivers, making it the safest brand for the second year in a row.

The study also highlighted a shift in DUI trends. Pontiac drivers overtook BMW drivers as having the highest DUI rate, with 3 DUI incidents per 1,000 drivers -- a significant increase from last year’s rate of 1 per 1,000.
