Quality Collision Group (QCG) recently became the first nationwide MSO to join the Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS) as an active member.
QCG’s 86 locations emphasize a commitment to following manufacturer repair procedures, using new OEM parts, and shop certification. The priority is safe and proper repairs, with a focus on the consumer's needs.
The MSO currently has locations in California, Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah and Washington.
QCG seeks out some of the best collision repair businesses in the industry, promising seamless integration of their brand's existing culture. Many of the locations comprising the growing roster were active members of SCRS before acquisition.
A recent acquisition was LaMettry’s Collision, a family-owned MSO in Minnesota, in early November. Darrell Amberson, who was president of operations for LaMettry’s, is now vice president of Industry and OEM Relations of QCG.
Amberson said LaMettry’s 11 locations have maintained SCRS membership for many years, and he “deeply appreciates the continuity we will have under the QCG banner.”
“[QCG] wants to be a leader at the national level where we meaningfully emphasize the importance of supporting activities that make the industry stronger and more informed. SCRS aligns on so many levels with our internal OE focus and belief in doing the right things for the right reasons,” said Amberson. “We want to empower our individual locations so that they will continue to be represented and a part of that industry activity. That it is more than just corporate branding.”
“I have a tremendous amount of respect for the work that SCRS accomplishes in our industry, for what the organization stands for, and for the hard-working men and women that sit around their table giving back to the industry,” Amberson added. “I have continued to be impressed with the leadership I’ve seen from the executive leadership team in my short time here at QCG. What has become obvious to me is their commitment to their culture and willingness to identify opportunities to do more if it advances the mission. I’ve been a champion of association and general industry involvement for my entire career. I hope this is an instance where we lead by example and motivate others to participate similarly.”
Since 1982, SCRS has focused solely on representing collision repair facilities across North America.
SCRS was founded on the principle that collision repair facilities could inspire positive advancement in the industry by working together. The result is an established organization that has provided collision repairers with an audible voice, a strong and recognizable presence on issues that matter, and an extensive grassroots network of industry professionals who strive to better our trade.
“We are all very excited to welcome each of the QCG locations as members of the association,” said Aaron Schulenburg, executive director of SCRS. “We are always grateful for growth and when businesses validate our work by joining as a member. This commitment from QCG is meaningful to us all.
“Many of these businesses have been members of ours in the past. They are prominent, well-respected, consumer and OE-focused businesses within the collision repair community because that is the target demographic QCG is looking for in their growth strategy,” Schulenburg continued. “Associations often see attrition in membership when strong businesses like that are acquired by larger national entities. The QCG leadership team acknowledged that and consciously decided to amplify support and involvement. We are grateful for the leadership in that area. I look forward to collaborating where our cultures and objectives align as we support education and information around safe and proper repairs.”
