High school students specializing in automotive technology and collision repair put their skills to the test Jan. 21 at the 2025 SkillsUSA Pennsylvania Division 7 competition, held at Stuckey Collision Center in Duncansville, PA.

The event brought together participants from eight counties, challenging them in a range of industry-relevant assessments, including auto body damage assessment and repair cost estimation, collision repair, refinishing and automotive maintenance technology.

Competitors were evaluated by master technicians from Stuckey Collision Center, who judged their technical abilities and precision.

“Just to see their skills shine, it’s really neat,” one representative said, according to WJAC. “You work with them in your program for three or four years, sometimes. Then they come out here and they get to compete against students who are doing the same thing, it’s just neat to see it all come together.”

Following the day-long competition, winners were recognized at an awards ceremony at the Blair County Convention Center, where other SkillsUSA competitions were held the same day. Winners advance to the state-level SkillsUSA contest, where they will compete to advance to the national stage.

SkillsUSA competitions provide students with hands-on experience and industry exposure, preparing them for careers in automotive technology and collision repair.
