Bobby Kehagias has transformed his lifelong passion for cars into a new venture with the opening of Maaco's latest retail center in Waukegan, IL. Located at 3232 W. Grandville Ave., the new facility is the 16th Maaco in Illinois and is dedicated to providing specialized paint and body services to retail customers.

Kehagias, who spent 25 years in a corporate retail career, decided to pivot to the automotive industry to pursue his passion.

“Everyone’s vehicle is a critical part of their lives, and I chose to franchise with Maaco because customers can choose what services they want done,” he explained. “At a traditional body shop, customer choices are limited. At Maaco, customers have options that are specifically catered to their needs.”

The 10,000-square-foot facility is a brand new build, fully equipped with the latest tools and technology. The center offers a range of services, including paint and body work, paintless dent repair and rust repair. Kehagias is supported by a team of 11 employees, including general manager Ronald and production manager Ricky.

“Any time a new owner joins the system, it’s invigorating to witness the flood of enthusiasm from the larger support team and other franchisees who are eager to make a new connection and offer help however they can,” said Maaco President Daryl Hurst. “The Maaco model is grounded in community, and I couldn’t be happier to welcome Bobby and his team to ours!”

Kehagias plans to integrate his facility into the local community through partnerships with customers, charities and civic organizations. “Maaco represents a differentiated customer model that’s unique in the market,” he said. “Maaco presented a great opportunity to not only fill a need for the community but to focus on my passions, too.”
