A young father from Bismarck, ND, has turned a setback into a hopeful future, thanks to the National Auto Body Council (NABC) Recycled Rides program. On Dec. 23, Tyler Bachmeier, along with his wife and newborn son, received a fully restored 2021 Chevrolet Traverse, donated by Farmers Insurance and repaired by Abra Auto Body.
Bachmeier, who was nominated for the program by New Song Church of Bismarck, has faced numerous challenges in recent years, including the loss of his vehicle in an accident. Without reliable transportation, he struggled to get to work, making it difficult to support his growing family. He credits his faith with enabling him to turn his life around over the last three years.
The donated vehicle ensures he can drive to work and church and have a reliable vehicle for his family as he works to improve his financial situation.
The repair work for Bachmeier’s new vehicle was completed by Abra Auto Body Bismarck, a part of the Buller Automotive Group, which operates three locations across North Dakota.
Additional partners in the NABC Recycled Rides presentation included NW Tire, Advanced Remarketing Services, Cars for Charity, Copart and Enterprise.
The Recycled Rides program brings together members of the collision repair industry to repair and donate vehicles to families in need. Since its launch in 2007, the initiative has donated over 3,500 vehicles, valued at approximately $50 million.
