Two women caring for family members with special needs received a life-changing gift on March 12 -- reliable vehicles donated through the National Auto Body Council (NABC) Recycled Rides program, in partnership with GEICO and Crash Champions.

The presentations, held at the Crash Champions Congress location in West Palm Beach, FL, marked a collaborative effort to help families in need gain dependable transportation for essential daily tasks and medical appointments.

Ana Padilla, the sole caregiver for two disabled family members, lost her vehicle in an accident and had been relying on rideshares and friends for transportation to doctors and therapy appointments. Thanks to a donated 2018 Toyota RAV4, she can now resume meeting her family’s daily needs. Padilla was nominated for the program by the ARC of South Florida.

Tashikki Cime, a working mother without a car, received a 2020 Honda Accord to help her commute nearly 30 miles to work and transport her son to important medical appointments.

“I extend my sincerest gratitude, which far exceeds expectations, and I am deeply thankful for your kindness in blessing my son and me once again,” Cime said during the event. “God is indeed good, and I thank you, as well as all those whose efforts contributed to this blessing.”

GEICO, the program’s largest donor, has provided more than 1,000 vehicles to NABC Recycled Rides since 2007. Crash Champions, an I-CAR Gold Certified repair facility with over 650 locations nationwide, has refurbished nearly 250 donated vehicles, many in South Florida.

NABC Recycled Rides unites collision repair businesses to restore and donate vehicles to individuals and families in need. Since its inception in 2007, the program has donated more than 3,500 vehicles with a combined value of approximately $51 million.

Additional partners supporting this presentation included Adas Calibration, Advanced Remarketing Services, Cars for Charity, Enterprise and Copart.
