Ford Motor Co. has issued a recall for 295,449 diesel-powered trucks, citing defective fuel pumps that could result in engine power loss and increased crash risks, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced Dec. 31.

According to the recall notice, the issue stems from biodiesel deposits forming on pump drivetrain roller components, potentially leading to high-pressure fuel pump failures. The impacted vehicles include the 2020-2022 Ford Super Duty F-250 through F-600 and the 2021-2022 Ford F-650 and F-750 models.

Affected drivers may experience symptoms such as "extended crank while starting, a Check Engine Light (CEL), noise, and reduced engine power," according to the recall documents.

No accidents, injuries or fires related to the issue have been reported related to the issue. Dealers will update the powertrain control module software at no charge. Vehicle owners can expect notification letters starting Jan. 13.

This recall is part of a broader series of actions taken by Ford on the same day, addressing additional safety concerns:

• More than 20,000 Ford Escape and Lincoln Corsair SUVs from 2020-2024 were recalled due to battery failure risks.
• Nearly 50,000 2024-2025 Lincoln Nautilus vehicles were flagged for faulty power windows that may fail to reverse after detecting obstructions.
• More than 30,000 2019 Ford Flex, Fiesta and Lincoln MKT vehicles face issues with rear-view cameras displaying distorted or blank images.

In November, Ford faced a $165 million fine from NHTSA for delays in addressing a 2020 recall of more than 620,000 vehicles with faulty rear-view cameras.
