Recent drone footage from Tesla's Giga Texas factory indicated a major increase in Cybertruck production, as data from S&P Global Mobility showed 5,175 of the all-electric pickups were registered across the U.S. in July -- a 61% increase over June.

Joe Tegtmeyer, a seasoned observer of Tesla’s operations, captured flyover footage showing hundreds of Cybertrucks amassed at the facility’s outbound lot, ready for delivery. Tegtmeyer estimated production is reaching close to 2,000 vehicles per week.

Tegtmeyer's footage also showed an unconventional shipping method for some of the trucks, using covered cargo trailers instead of the usual open car carriers.

The increasing stockpile of Cybertrucks coincides with the impending conclusion of the Cybertruck Foundation Series, a premium model phase that required a $20,000 surcharge. The transition away from this premium phase is expected to broaden the vehicle's appeal and boost order volumes.

Despite the current premium pricing model, the Cybertruck outsold its competitors in the electric pickup sector, which combined only registered about 400 new units in July, according to S&P Global Mobility.

The total EV market in the U.S. saw an 18% year-over-year increase in registrations in July. In addition to the Cybertruck, the Honda Prologue also contributed heavily to the overall increase.

S&P Global Mobility analyst Tom Libby pointed out the EV market's growth is generally fueled by substantial incentives. However, the Cybertruck defies this trend, thriving in the market without reliance on such incentives and selling well above the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP).

Once the Foundation Series ends, the all-wheel-drive Cybertruck is expected to be priced below $80,000, and the tri-motor Cyberbeast below $100,000, aligning closer with competitors like the Rivian R1T and the Ford F-150 Lightning.
