Carvana, in partnership with seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson, launched an initiative to support automotive education at Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis. The collaboration, announced in July during the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, aims to provide students with advanced tools and resources to enhance their learning experiences and prepare them for successful careers in the automotive industry.

Carvana, known for its innovative approach to the online used-car market, has been partnering with Johnson since 2021.

"An automotive education is a powerful launching pad to a fun and rewarding career," said Carvana co-founder and chief brand officer Ryan Keeton in a news release. "Carvana has always invested in developing the next generation of automotive professionals through internal training programs, and with this collaboration, we're excited to extend our support to local technical school students at the outset of their careers."

As part of the initiative, students from Arsenal Tech's automotive program had the opportunity to meet Johnson at the race and watched from a luxury suite. During the event, Carvana and Johnson presented the school with a donation to fund a new vehicle lift, tools and other supplies. Additionally, Carvana donated a project vehicle from its wholesale inventory for the students to repair and submit for a World of Wheels show next year.

"Carvana's generous donation of a new lift and project car to our automotive services program at Arsenal Technical High School is a wonderful addition that will significantly enhance our students' hands-on learning experience," said Jennifer Berry, career and technical education pathway director for Indianapolis Public Schools. "This contribution will not only provide our students with state-of-the-art tools and resources but also inspire them to pursue successful careers in the automotive industry."

Johnson, recently inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame, also competed in the Brickyard 400 in his No. 84 Toyota Camry XSE sponsored by Carvana, with a paint scheme designed by Johnson's daughters, Genevieve, 13, and Lydia, 11.
