Tim McDonald's cherished 1977 Mercury Comet, a classic V8 car he received in 1977, has been lovingly restored after years in disrepair, thanks to the dedicated team at Abra Elk River in Minnesota. The restoration effort began when Tim Adelmann, McDonald’s brother-in-law and a former Abra president, reached out to Kedrick Johnson, owner of several Abra franchises, including Elk River. Touched by McDonald’s story, Johnson and his team committed to reviving the vehicle, which had been left disassembled at a shop for eight years.

“Tim’s story moved us deeply,” said Johnson. “Our team poured their skills and hearts into making his dream a reality.”

Months of meticulous work by Abra Elk River’s technicians brought the Mercury Comet from a disassembled state to a 99% completed masterpiece. The car is now undergoing its final adjustments at a mechanical shop, marking the culmination of a heartfelt collaboration.

Abra Elk River looks forward to seeing McDonald behind the wheel of his fully restored car, celebrating the fulfillment of a dream decades in the making.
