In Atlanta, GA, Winylda Roche, a mother of two small children, was presented with a key to enhanced freedom and safety.
Thanks to the National Auto Body Council (NABC) Recycled Rides program, along with generous contributions from GEICO and Gerber Collision & Glass, Roche received a fully refurbished 2020 Toyota Sienna.
Roche, nominated by Wellspring Living, is currently living in transitional housing and participating in a program assisting exploited individuals, but she faced numerous hardships managing her responsibilities without a vehicle. The necessity of public transportation to access essential services like daycare, grocery shopping and medical appointments was a constant strain, limiting her ability to spend valuable time with her children and fulfill the requirements of her recovery program.
The NABC Recycled Rides program is a collaborative initiative where businesses from the collision repair industry unite to refurbish and donate vehicles to individuals and families in dire need of reliable transportation. Since its inception in 2007, the program has donated more than 3,300 vehicles, valued at approximately $47 million.
Additional partners in the presentation included Advanced Remarketing Services, Cars for Charity, Copart and Enterprise.
