About 112,000 Toyota and Lexus vehicles from the 2022-2023 model years are being recalled due to potential engine contamination from machining debris.

The recall involves 2022-2023 Toyota Tundras and 2022-2023 Lexus LX vehicles.

The issue stems from debris that may not have been cleared from the engines during manufacturing, leading to potential engine knocking, poor performance, failure to start or even stalling while driving. Toyota has not yet provided specific details on the extent of the issue but said efforts are underway to determine and implement appropriate repairs.

Owners of the affected vehicles should expect to receive recall notices by the end of July. In the meantime, Toyota and Lexus have set up a hotline for concerned customers to get more information and assistance. Owners can call 800-331-4331 with their questions.

Approximately 10,000 of the recalled vehicles are in Canada.

Owners of any vehicle can check for open recalls at www.nhtsa.gov/recalls.
