Covenant House New Orleans, a support organization for homeless youth, received a refurbished 2015 Chevy Tahoe, enhancing its ability to serve clients. The donation was made possible through the National Auto Body Council (NABC) Recycled Rides program in collaboration with Allstate, Gerber Collision & Glass and the Roberts Family Agency.

The vehicle presentation, which took place May 17, marks a significant contribution to Covenant House's mission to provide shelter, counseling and other support to youth who have become homeless. In many cases, the clients are victims of trafficking or some other form of abuse. Covenant House provides training in life skills to make them ready for school or work, and is part of a national network serving 34 cities.

This new vehicle will enable them to meet the wide variety of transportation needs of youth who live at Covenant House New Orleans and fully support their transition from surviving to thriving.

“We put a lot of miles on our vehicles serving 800 youth a year, getting them to doctor appointments, community services and school," said Rheneisha Robertson, CEO of of Covenant House New Orleans. "We are just so excited to have reliable transportation for them now.”

NABC Recycled Rides is a unique initiative where collision repair industry businesses collaborate to repair and donate vehicles to individuals and families in need. Since its inception in 2007, the program has donated more than 3,300 vehicles valued at approximately $47 million.

“What is important to us at Allstate is giving back to the local community, supporting charities the best way we can, and building futures in traditionally underserved communities," said Clint Marlow, director of claims innovation and customer experience for Allstate. "I think that all these boxes are checked with this gifting. It’s a privilege to be able to help Covenant House continue their mission to serve the community.”

Additional partners in the presentation included Copart, Glass America, All Clear Diagnostics, Advanced Remarketing Services and Cars for Charity.
