Rivian revealed plans to set up its new East Coast headquarters in Atlanta, GA, part of the company's broader commitment to expanding its presence in the state, with operations set to begin in late 2025. By the end of 2026, the headquarters will employ around 500 people.
The headquarters will occupy the top floor and lobby of Portman Holdings' Junction Krog District building, located at 667 Auburn Ave. NE. This location, adjacent to the Eastside Trail of the Atlanta Beltline, offers easy access to public transportation. Rivian plans to hire around 100 people by the end of 2025, with the workforce growing as the company expands its operations.
“We are excited to establish our East Coast head office in Atlanta,” said RJ Scaringe, founder and CEO of Rivian. “Atlanta embodies so much that makes Georgia great — top talent, exceptional creativity, and a desire to always be moving forward.”
“Georgia is a prime location for any company headquarters, and we’re glad to see Rivian will soon join the growing list of brands not only operating in our state but also wholly or partially based in our capital city,” said Gov. Brian Kemp.
Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens also celebrated the decision, emphasizing the city’s growing role in electric vehicle innovation. “The opening of this new office and event space reflects how Atlanta continues to engage the community in bold, creative ways,” Dickens said.
Rivian’s investment in Georgia also includes a manufacturing facility planned for Stanton Springs North, near Social Circle. The facility will employ 7,500 people.
