CAWA Receives Grant From UAF To Implement Scholarship Program

Representing the automotive parts industry, CAWA was awarded a $25,000 grant from the University of the Aftermarket Foundation to implement a scholarship for high school automotive instructors in 2019.

CAWA Installs 2019 Officers of the Board of Directors

At the CAWA 2018 annual dinner meeting held in conjunction with Industry Week in Las Vegas, Dan Hanson, Jr. of Hanson Distributing Company was installed as the association’s 2019 Chair of the Board.

 

There were a lot of proposed bills this year that could have either helped or hurt the collision repair industry in California.

During the month of October, ASA Northwest chapters held their Annual Lights-On events across Washington in support of National Car Care Month.

 

On Oct. 8, Kenneth Schnoll, general counsel and deputy commissioner of the California Department of Insurance (DOI), sent a letter to the California Autobody Association (CAA) to issue a legal opinion pursuant to California Insurance Code Section 12921.9 based on a complaint filed by the trade organization.

 

Mark Olson of VECO Experts was the featured speaker at California Autobody Association's East Bay chapter meeting on Sept. 19 at the PPG training facility in Concord, CA.

On August 23, ASA Northwest hosted its 9th Annual Family Fun Night at Cheney Stadium in Tacoma, WA, as the Tacoma Rainers took on the Reno Aces.

 

The California Autobody Association (CAA) said good-bye to its executive director, David McClune, at the beginning of the year so he could focus on his health and family after 17 years of service.

On August 8, ASA Northwest held its 25th Annual Golf Tournament at the Eagles Pride Golf Course in Tacoma, WA.
