Woman Rushing to Hospital Crashes into Spartanburg, SC, Body Shop

A woman who was rushing to get to a hospital lost control of her Ford Mustang and crashed into Wiley’s Body Shop in Spartanburg, SC, on May 14, 2014.

Owner Joe Wiley said he was called at about midnight and told that the woman lost control of the car and crossed lanes before leaving the road and crashing into the body shop.

"It's a big mess,” Wiley said. “Fortunately, nobody was hurt. We just have a lot of cleaning and put up a new wall."

The car plunged into a storage room hitting vehicle parts, including engines, sunroofs, and tires. It also destroyed trophies and a wall of photographs from car shows.

“I would say $20,000–25,000 worth of work. It's hard to say. We mostly fix cars. It's a good mess,” he said.

There was no immediate word on why the woman was rushing to the hospital, or if she will be charged in connection to the wreck.
