“We’re just capable of doing anything on your car,” Weiser said. “You don’t have to go anywhere else. You [can] come here for [anything from] an oil change to a major take-my-motor-out-and-put-a-new-motor-in. We can do it all. We can do your tires. We’ve got wrecker trucks to come get you if you get stranded or you have a blowout. We’ll bring it straight in and get you going.”

For the past 10 or so years, Weiser has run the successful shop with her youngest son, Calvin Duren, as the general manager.

“He’s grown up in the business,” Weiser said.

And with the expansion of services offered, the number of employees has also grown over the years. The shop originally started with five or six employees and is now at 30. Weiser and Duren said that as far as they know, they are the only body shop in town that offers the kind of benefits they offer.

“I’m also proud that all my employees [have] full health care plans, dental and vision,” Weiser said. “They’re totally taken care of. They make the top salaries in the industry. I pay them very well, and guess what I get in return? Amazing employees. [We have] very little turnover, and it just works. It works really well.”

“I know it’s cliché, but I feel like pretty much everybody here is family,” Duren said. “We work hard at it, and we’re proud of what we do.”

Weiser and Duren also said they make every effort to keep the environment in mind with their work.

“We go out of our way to be eco-friendly,” Weiser said. “We use waterborne paints. [We] recycle everything. We run a very clean shop here, so our employees are protected, as well as the environment.”

Duren estimated that only about 30 percent of the auto industry uses waterborne paints, with the rest using more harmful solvent-based paints.

Duren said Master Body Works staff members also repair everything to the manufacturers’ standards, rather than the standards of insurance companies.
