On Saturday, May 19, the Auto Body Association of Texas (ABAT) hosted its Second Annual Skeet Shoot at Elm Fork Shooting Sports in Dallas, TX.

According to ABAT Executive Director Jill Tuggle, “The event went really well. We learned from last year, so this year went more smoothly. Everyone relaxed and enjoyed themselves. We were much more organized and we had around 60 attendees this year.”

The association held the event to provide an opportunity for members to network and socialize. Everyone seemed to enjoy the time together, Tuggle reported.

“We saw returnees as well as new faces,” she said. “Shops played with vendors and colleagues alike. This year’s winners were all new compared to last year, and we gave away some really great prizes. A food truck provided lunch and everyone hung out after the skeet shoot to mingle. It was great to see some new folks there since it confirms that we are generating interest in the association.”

The day prior to the event, ABAT hosted a training session featuring three presentations. 300 Advantage discussed hail readiness planning for shops, Phoenix Solutions presented “What’s Driving Poor Collision Repair Experiences” and AAMS provided an OSHA update, pointing out things shops should be doing to avoid a potential citation in the instance they are subjected to an inspection.
