NJ Body Shop Damaged by Three-Alarm Fire

Several departments battled a fire on September 15 at a body shop in Ramsey, just off Route 17 north. Traffic was backed up for more than a mile in the northbound lane, according to reports by Abbott Koloff, northjersey.com.

The blaze began at Meinke Car Care Center around 7pm and was under control in about an hour. A portion of a connected one-story garage and the exterior of the two floor repair shop were damaged. The interior was not reached, according to Ramsey Deputy Fire Chief Louis Warnet. One firefighter injured his shoulder, and was transported to the hospital.

A meineke employee was inside the building when the fire started, but was able to get outside by the time firefighters were on the scene, according to Koloff.
