Apple Automotive Acquires Hake's Body Shop

Written by Jason Scott, Central Penn Business Journal

The midstate's largest family-owned automotive dealership group just got a little bit bigger.

York-based Apple Automotive Group, part of the Stewart Companies, on October 11 acquired Hake's Body Shop in Wrightsville.

"This acquisition will provide us the ability to better service our existing customer base and service a new customer base as well," said Christopher Sechrist, Apple Automotive's president.

The company has 15 automobile franchises at 10 retail locations in York County. Apple Automotive also owns 10 service and repair locations and six collision repair centers, including Pritz Auto Body, as well as two car washes and parts distribution throughout Central Pennsylvania.

Hake's, which has four full-time employees, will maintain its name, according to Apple Automotive. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
