On April 17, AASP-MO held an OSHA compliance training class at the Lewis and Clark Career Center in St. Charles, MO.

Guest speaker Jim Bratton of Interstate Safety and Environmental provided attendees with updates on the newest OSHA regulations and information.

According to AASP-MO Executive Director Ron Reiling, “Jim gave some great tips on how to protect your business and avoid the huge fines that are being leveraged towards repair shops. There are so many items you can be fined for that you ignore every day---things as simple as how you store your Oxy/Acetylene torch cylinders. Jim gave us a great presentation. If you get inspected and fined, you will wish you were at this class and saved a few thousand dollars.”

Attendees responded favorably to the information and handouts that were distributed, and many made plans to implement changes immediately. Reiling believes associations must ensure that this type of training reaches their members because “no one shop knows as much as all of us working together.”
