The notice can also be faxed to 609‐799‐7032. It must be received on or before, Friday, September 2, 2011. This is 60 days before the election as prescribed by NABC bylaws.
It is also possible for an individual to be nominated by three or more members. This can be done with or without the nominee’s approval, although once a name is on the ballot it cannot be removed. If someone is elected that does not wish to serve, they need simply resign and the chairman then makes an appointment to fill that term.
Each year, seven positions are open. This year we have one vacancy that has not been filled among those seven seats up for election which include those currently held by George Avery, Stacy Bartnik, Karen Fierst, Fred Iantorno, Dave Niestroy, and Liz Stein. These individuals may seek to be reelected, but equal representation is provided on the ballot which simply lists all nominees alphabetically.
Once the deadline for nomination passes, a ballot will be assembled and sent to all members 30 days in advance of the vote. The location (room) of the election will be included on the ballot.
Please note that all NABC members who wish to vote must be in attendance since our bylaws prohibit proxy votes and nominations from the floor. Your commitment to NABC is most appreciated. Should anyone having an interest have further questions about expectations of a board member, please feel free to contact either the administrative office or Chuck Sulkala directly.
Companies and collision repairers interested in changing the industry for the better can help by becoming a member of NABC. Membership applications are available on the website at www.autobodycouncil.org.
