The Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA), the Auto Care Association, and the Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX) will partner with ASA to help build and sponsor the programs.
"Working closely with these leading organizations and their respective leadership teams is a clear indicator of the collaboration and mutual commitment we believe will improve the industry for all of the stakeholders," stated Dan Risley, ASA President. "Continuing education programs at a regional level will help shops operate more efficiently and effectively without the added expense of travel costs or down time in their shop."
In addition to association partners, sponsoring companies have committed their support for these programs. Sponsors include: AutoZone, The Group, NAPA, Gates and Federated Insurance. Bosch is also providing technical training.
The first event will take place in Orlando, Florida, February 26-27, at the Renaissance Orlando Airport Hotel.
A special owner/manager session will be presented by Bob Greenwood, entitled "Profitability Secrets that Dramatically Build Your Bottom Line" (AMI certified).
Topics for technicians include:
- 21st Century Cooling System Design
- Practical Electrical Testing
- Preparing to Service Connected Car Technology (AMI Certified)
- Brake Technology
Topics for service advisors include:
- Lip Service (AMI Certified)
- Winning Women Customers (AMI Certified)
In addition to Orlando, regional training programs will take place in Philadelphia, Chicago, Las Vegas (co-located with AAPEX), and Los Angeles in 2016. The programs will take place on Fridays (management training) and Saturdays (technical and service writer training), keeping shop downtime to a minimum while providing the most valuable and requested training for the region. The Automotive Service Association (ASA) works closely with shop owners and has served them for many years through association membership, member services, NACE | CARS conference & expo, and more
