Members of the Acoat selected organization have formed the Acoat Selected National Benevolence Program, a community relations program whose mission is to present refurbished "new" used cars to deserving individuals or organizations during the holiday season. Mike Rose's, a three-year participant, is just one of the Acoat Selected Shops in the country that will present a vehicle in December.
According to Contreras, "last year, Mike Rose's was fortunate enough to have three "new" used cars to present. This year we plan to do the same. We have received wonderful media coverage, televised and written, over the past two years and hopefully plan to continue that coverage this year.
"What is unique about this program is that it is a community effort. Everything is donated - cars, parts, paint, mechanical inspections, tires, insurance and more. In addition, the body and paint technicians donated their time and talents. It becomes a real community effort to put these vehicles together year after year."
To take advantage of the nationwide aspect of the program, a single week in December is being targeted to give the cars away across the country. In this way, the group hopes to draw greater attention to the program and gain more shops to participate in the Benevolence Program in the future.
