Former CA Car Dealer Pleads Guilty to Concealing Drug Money

John Frank Mussari pleaded guilty September 18 to purchasing a Ferrari, two Lamborghinis and a Porsche over a four month period with $719,000 in cash from a drug trafficker.
Mussari, 48, was the owner of Mussari Motors Inc. in San Diego. His official charge is "conspiracy to evade a law requiring discolsure of cash transactions exceeding $10,000," according to Tony Perry, latimes.com
Agents found him leaving the drug dealers house in a Lamborghini with almost $205,000 in his car.
"Mussari pleaded guilty in San Diego County Superior Court in April 2014 to eight counts of defrauding customers and was ordered to pay restitution. The charges involved claims that Mussari bought luxury cars, resold them and then failed to reimburse the original owner," according to Perry.
He is sentenced to San Diego federal court on December 5; he faces a $250,000 fine and up to five years in prison.
According to the Better Business Bureau, Mussari Motors is no longer in business.
