According to a press release, A & J Collision Repair is known for its community involvement and helping outside of the automobile business. Owner Jody Gatchell said, “Here at A & J Collision Repair it is all about people. Businesses can’t survive unless people communicate and help one another. That is why I like to get out into the community and give back completely. Really because so many have given to A & J Collision Repair, it is only fair I stay in exchange with everyone around my business.”
A & J Collision Repair announced the start of their “Hit a Deer, Get a Turkey” campaign on September 28. The fundraiser will go until December 11. During this time period, drivers who have a run in with a deer and then have their vehicle repaired at A & J Collision Repair will receive a turkey from A & J Collision Repair.
According to State Farm Insurance Company’s news release, which lists states that have the highest deer related incidents, Arkansas drivers have a 1 in 101 chance of having a deer related crash. That puts Arkansas in 13th place. October, November and December are the 3 months out of the year that drivers are more likely to have a deer vehicle accident. A & J Collision Repair has already been seeing an increase of deer related accidents for the past two months.
For every turkey that the shop gives to a customer during this time, they will donate the same amount of turkeys on December 15th, 2015 at 1:00pm, to the Soul Food Café.
A & J Collision Repair's goal to surpass last year’s giveaway of 200 turkeys to the same cafe. In 2013, they donated 150 turkeys to The Soul Food Café with the help of Harps Grocery. The cafe served 343 lunch meals which 200 of them received a turkey with their meal. This will help the Soul Food Café assist families that need their help.

This year, A& J Collision Repair wants to call on the community to get involved and help with the turkey donations. This is just one way that everyone can give back to the community during the holidays.
