Five students from Universal Technical Institute’s (UTI) Houston campus were honored with scholarships from 3M and the Collision Repair Education Foundation (CREF) in a ceremony held May 19. The recipients are all military veterans enrolled in the school’s Collision Repair and Refinishing Technology (CRRT) program and were selected based on a written essay and instructor nominations.

Over 200 tech students visited Garmat USA manufacturing facility April 14 for the Denver-based Cars Careers and Celebrity event. Much to their surprise, these students were also the first to witness the unveiling of Garmat USA’s new R&D and training facility. The facility has actually been in place since Garmat’s inception in 1988, but has been recently renovated to include new equipment.
