Ocean City, MD Sees Decrease in Accidents in 2013, High Hopes for 2014

Ocean City, MD saw a 14-percent decrease in traffic collisions in 2013, and with less than a month left in 2014, the Ocean City Police Department (OCPD) is hoping the stats continue to show a decline in accidents.

Between 2009-2013, DUI-related collisions killed 856 people in Maryland. An additonal 600 lives were taken in accidents because they didn't wear a seatbelt, according to mdcoastdispatch.com.

In 2013, more than 400 people were arrested in Ocean City and charged with DUIs, and hundreds of seat belt citations were given, according to mdcoastdispatch.com.
