IDA: NY Body Shop Proposes Addition, New Jobs

Approval was given by The Cattaraugus County Industrial Development Agency Board of Directors on Sept. 16, 2014 to a $600,000 expansion of Mallery’s Auto Body on Constitution Avenue in Olean, NY.

Owner John Mallery described a 25-foot by 100-foot addition to the body shop in a presentation to the IDA. Five new full-time positions would be available, adding to the 19 full-time employees.

Mallery also plans to renovate the exterior of the original building, and purchase new equipment.

The application to the IDA from Mallery’s Auto Body seeks a $100,000 sales tax exemption, a mortgage recording tax exemption and a commercial/new construction payment in lieu of taxes (P.I.L.O.T.) agreement worth about $50,000 over 10 years, according to reports by Rick Miller of Olean Times Herald.
