It was noted that administrative director Barry Fillman accepted several donations, including one of 3M products for use in the Automotive Collision Shop from the Collision Repair Education Foundation in the approximate amount of $3,000.
“The 3M products are current supplies used to prepare the vehicles for painting,” he said, when asked for comment. “As many of these items are consumable, it is a big boost to our program having them available and stretching our budget in the area.”
The backpack program was also the recipient of several donations.
These include donations of $50 from Sandy Hose Company No. 1, $500 from Fraternal Order of Eagles in Punxsutawney, and $1,000 from Fraternal Order of Eagles in Brookville.
In a related matter, the committee approved a recommendation that the proceeds from donations given to Jeff Tech for the 2016-2017 backpack program, in the approximate amount of $761.58, be retained in the committed fund balance that was established for the holiday banquet and other charitable events. The proceeds will be available to help fund the backpack program in future years, according to the information on the meeting agenda.
