The joint effort was recognized recently at the 38th annual Erie County Association of School Boards (ECASB) dinner meeting at Salvatore’s Restaurant, with a presentation of the Collaboration Award of Honor, sponsored by Hodgson Russ, LLP. Accepting the award on behalf of Carubba Collision was V.P. of operations Randy Pinkowski, who serves as the chairman of the advisory board for the Auto Body Collision division of Erie 1 BOCES.
In addition to donating approximately $25,000 worth of equipment and supplies, Carubba Collision provided students in the Collision Repair program with numerous resources. According to the company, Carubba Collision has been a driving force in developing the partnership with Erie 1 BOCES' Career and Technical Education Collision Repair program and has provided students with job preparation through shadowing opportunities, mock interviews for real positions, and paid summer internships. At the completion of the two-year curriculum, students from the Collision Repair program are guaranteed a job interview.
“We are honored to receive this recognition, and we will continue to support these outstanding programs at Erie 1 BOCES,” said Joe Carubba, President and CEO of Carubba Collision Corp.
