Lena Sbrogna's life was rooted deeply in her faith and family. Born on April 22, 1927 in Worcester, she was one of eight children of Italian immigrants Francesco and Antoinetta (Santora) Flaminio. Raised in Worcester's Italian neighborhood known as 'Shrewsbury Street,' she married Augustine "Gus' Sbrogna in 1946 in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
