On Thursday, June 29, the Competition Automotive Group hosted its Annual Car Show and BBQ in the parking lot of its BMW dealership in St. James, NY, to show appreciation for the group’s wholesale customers. Many industry professionals were in attendance, including members of the Long Island Auto Body Repairmen’s Association (LIABRA).

LIABRA Executive Director Ed Kizenberger “would like to thank the Competition Automotive Group, Competition BMW Parts Director Wayne Locanthi, Infiniti Parts Manager Billy Walker, and Competition Automotive Group Wholesale Parts Manager Tony Sollo for providing LIABRA members with a wonderful evening.”

Beginning at 5 p.m., more than 100 car enthusiasts flooded the lot with their “cool rides” to flaunt at the car show, and hundreds more joined the party an hour later, enjoying a buffet BBQ dinner and listening to the musical stylings of the band SLAM.

Kizenberger notes, “People out in the lot spent the evening admiring the beautiful automobiles on show. There were antiques and collectibles from the ‘30s, ‘40s, ‘50s and up, including racing cars, Japanese cars, American cars, European cars, and even motorcycles – there was something for everyone! Everywhere I turned, there were LIABRA members, and it was obvious that they and everyone else were thoroughly enjoying the party.”

At 9 p.m., Tony Sollo began the raffle drawings, distributing a variety of prizes, including hats, shirts and a grand prize of a four-day golf trip to Myrtle Beach, including two rounds per day for four people. LIABRA Golf Committee Chairman Paul O’Connell was the lucky recipient of a beautiful BMW mountain bike.

LIABRA’s next event will be the association’s Annual Golf Tournament at the Baiting Hollow Country Club on Sept. 26. For more information, call O’Connell at 516-524-2353 or Kizenberger at 631-941-9647.
