Service King Collision Repair Centers® announced on March 14 the organization has appointed tenured global business executive Sean Huurman to the role of Chief Human Resources Officer.
Huurman joins Service King with more than 25 years of diverse experience, most recently serving as the Chief Administrative Officer at Imagine Communications. He will begin his new post at Service King immediately.
“I could not be more excited to join the Service King team during this crucial time in the company’s proud history,” said Huurman. “Service King’s strong culture and executive leadership have created an enviable environment for talent. It is my mission to build upon this foundation to further enhance our culture and develop our workforce in support of Service King’s vision to be the collision repair operator of choice.”
Service King, celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2016, operates nearly 300 collision repair centers in 23 states across the U.S. The organization in 2015 surpassed 6,000 teammates. As Chief Human Resources Officer, Huurman will oversee all administrative operations and lead the department’s efforts across Service King’s national footprint.
“We conducted an extensive national search for the ideal candidate to fill this role,” said Service King CEO Chris Abraham. “In that process, Sean continually proved he aligned with both Service King’s culture and our collective vision for the future. He is a dynamic leader with a passion for infusing teams with the right talent. Service King looks forward to his leadership and positive impact across our family of repair centers.”
During his tenure at Imagine Communications, Huurman most recently led the company’s global workforce, information technology and real estate initiatives. He also held the role of Chief People Officer and led the transformation of Imagine Communication’s culture and workforce following its divestiture from Harris Corporation in 2013.
Huurman previously served as the Executive Vice President and Chief People Officer at GENBAND. There, he played a key role in the global acquisition and assimilation of the CVAS division of Nortel, catapulting the company to four-times its size overnight. Before joining the GENBAND team Huurman spent 13 years in various human resource roles with KPMG and its spinoff, a $3B publically traded management consulting firm BearingPoint, Inc., culminating his time there as Vice President of Human Resources.
Huurman holds a degree in Psychology from Santa Clara University and a master’s degree in Human Resources and Employment Relations from Pennsylvania State University.
