B.J. Johnson, director of membership and affiliate relations, presented the award to Charles Parker, executive director of ASA-Texas; and Glenn Young, AAM, immediate past president of ASA-Texas and owner of Young’s Automotive Center, Houston, Texas.
“The volunteer leadership, members and staff of ASA-Texas have set their sights on increasing membership and improving the automotive service and repair industry’s image in the state,’ Johnson said. “Through educational sessions held around the state, members were updated on the affiliate’s legislative activities, provided technical and management training, and given the opportunity to provide input into the affiliate’s structure. As a member-driven organization, at all levels, ASA-Texas excels at providing its affiliate members a valuable return on their dues investment. I congratulate ASA-Texas on its accomplishments.”
Guidelines for Affiliate of the Year were sent to each affiliate last year and are designed to take into account the size of each group to ensure each has an equal opportunity to win the award.
