The Auto Care Association applauds the Senate Commerce Committee for including a vehicle data access and control amendment in the “American Vision for Safer Transportation through Advancement of Revolutionary Technologies” (AV START) Act (S 1885).

About 51 percent of shops say they are paid “always” or “most of the time” to pressure test and purge a vehicle cooling system when necessary as part of a repair, yet more than 40 percent of shops acknowledge never having billed for this not-included procedure.

PA Auto Body Shops’ Owner Files Lawsuit Against Insurance Companies

The owner of two Altoona-area auto body shops has filed another lawsuit against many of the nation’s largest insurance companies, claiming they refuse to pay the full costs of making necessary repairs to damaged vehicles.

Gary Ledoux began his career in the collision repair industry helping a small-town jobber mix paint and deliver paint and supplies to body shops.
