The new A.R.E. Accessories' 2015 Ford F-150 Extreme Sport Project Truck was selected for the top 10 Mothers(r) Choice Award at the 2014 SEMA show. Started in 2001 to honor excellence in vehicle design, the awards are presented to the most outstanding SEMA vehicles chosen by a panel of industry judges.
According to Jim Holloway, vice president of Mothers, "This truck is a prime example of engineering execution, it's obvious that a lot of thought went into it, and while there are a lot of lifted trucks here this F-150 has unique styling cues throughout that really got our attention and deserve recognition."
The winning project truck, built by A.R.E. and Trent's Trick Upholstery, features a customized interior by Trent's and the contributions of over 20 aftermarket product leaders. The project truck is equipped with an A.R.E. fiberglass truck cap, DUB wheels, Rigid Industries light bars, Corsa exhaust, Bushwacker fender flares, Skyjacker suspension, Air Lift air springs, Toyo tires and a Lynch Concepts custom gloss/matte paint treatment. In addition, GoPro cameras integrated into the design help capture and share all of the extreme sports action.
According to Trent's Trick Upholstery owner Trent Van Arsdalen, "Receiving this award is a great finishing touch for this collaborative effort, and we are proud to have created a special truck that stood out from the dozens of other great project vehicles at SEMA."
A.R.E. marketing manager Andy Clutter notes that this is the second year in a row that a project truck created by A.R.E. and Trent's Trick Upholstery has received design recognition at SEMA. "In 2013, our Wounded Warrior Project(r) truck received two GM Design Awards for a customized 2014 Chevrolet Silverado, winning both Chevrolet's Best New Off-Road Silverado and Best New Chevrolet Interior," said Clutter.
