One of the Oldest Shops in Bay Area is One of the First to Waterborne

Written by Vincent Rojas, Annex

Established in 1954, Milpitas Auto Body is one of the older shops in the Bay Area. Owner John Whaley is an example of forward thinking owners who are making the waterborne change now. With 27,000 sq. feet of operating space, and 20+ employees, Milpitas Auto Body prides itself on getting the job done right the first time.

Annex Santa Clara has converted Milpitas Auto Body to the BASF 90 line water base system. Owner John Whaley says that converting to 90 line was simple. “Annex tested the air quality and volume of air that we had. We ordered a Kaeser air dryer after determining the existing dryer was not functioning properly. That was purchased through Annex.
“Then we were ready to spray. The in- house training that Annex provided was excellent. Working side by side with my painters was great for us. I couldn’t have asked for smoother transition. Having a jobber capable of providing the level of service I continue to receive is unheard of today. They are a true business partner.
Additionally, Annex offers service such as monitoring monthly bill analysis, production analysis, creating standard operating procedures for my shop, and put on clinics with their vendors such as 3M,  They keep us well informed.
